Did you ever doubt yourself when becoming an engineer?

I do many different sorts of projects, including ones that require field work or traveling. Because I have a background in hydrogeology, my field work typically consists of drilling or sampling activities. This means I will hang out with a water supply rig and collect samples as they drill holes (that will become water wells). I will also do aquifer tests by pumping water out of the ground at different rates. Sometimes, we just go to wells or houses and collect samples. Then back at the office I get to analyze the data from the samples. During construction activities, sometimes I just do oversight to make sure that the contractors are following the design (that I designed) and that everything is going smoothly.

As far as doubting myself… I think everyone has a bit of imposter syndrome. I am no exception. I put in my very best effort so at the end of the day, that is something that I can be proud of. Somedays my best effort is more than other days. The mindset is to know that you did your best for that day.
